"Socialism would gather all power to the supreme party and party leaders, rising like stately pinnacles above their vast bureaucracies of civil servants no longer servants, no longer civil." - Sir Winston Churchill

1933 Pro-Inflation Propaganda Film

This is a 10-minute propaganda film by the Roosevelt Administration advocating in favour of inflation. One often wonders how so many people have been led to believe something so vacuous. This may help you understand it. The sad reality is that the current government is, with the help of the media and academia, repeating the same sins.

WARNING: The following video is intended for intelligent audiences. Viewing this information without at least a marginal understanding of basic economics or an IQ above room temperature may prove hazardous to your political beliefs. Please do not view in the presence of leftist politicians, professors, journalists or government employees as they have been shown to become sexually aroused by economic inanity.

Ok . . . i don't know anything about economics. Please explain, when he says that since the deflated dollar will only buy you this little amount of steel . . . you buy it now. Why?

Is he saying that if the dollar was worth more, you wouldn't buy that same amount? Wouldn't the only difference be that it cost you less?

I had to watch that part over and over again. It just doesn't make sense anyway you look at it. Again, I don't know the first thing about economics but i can add and subtract.

"they feel the effects of inflation as they inflate their stomachs." Inflation SOUNDS good.

I like how they called the mortgage company the 'villain.' Without him, there would be no farm. Luckily a worthless dollar and a high cost of goods saved him.

Zimbabwe must be the most prosperous nation on earth based on these principles.

At 2:05 they explain the gold standard, but never why we got off it.

  4. Anon he means just that: you buy now because of impending inflation. Keynes and those who adopted his economic systems are well aware of the fact that inflation is an immediate short-term “fix”. When people face the possibility of a loss of the purchasing power of the dollar, they naturally rush to purchase as much as possible before inflation kicks in. Of course, as more people engage in consumption, they unwittingly bit up the prices of goods and services which means the increase in currency volume once again washes with the prices of goods and services. Often, however later outpaces the former and you get runaway inflation. Such measures are not intended to “solve” a problem, but are mere temporary trade-offs which delay the inevitable.

  5. What is amazing is the fact that this type of propaganda works. It is intellectually vacuous and devoid of any logic yet it sounds the right tone and inflames the passions of its audience who are merely seeking a confidence man or shall I say, someone of authority who can give them a reason to believe what they already want to believe.
